I have always wanted to try creating chalkware from my antique metal chocolate molds.
Our first warm days I leaped in and gave it a try.
This is a mulit step process creating this sweet bunny.
He is truly a one of a kind. He isn’t perfect, but isn’t that what primitives is all about.
This sweet bunny is some of my first work in creating chalkware. He when through several steps in preperation before he could be hand- painted. He was given a protective top coat to finish him. Finished off with a silk ribbon.
Please know, if you are not familiar with chalkware it can be fragile. If dropped it can shatter.
He will be packed with extra TLC for traveling
He is approximately 3 × 3 ½ . Tuck him in a basket and he can stay out all summer long.
Each is a OLM OOAK.
