Sometimes simple wee pumpkins are the best! Especially since they can stay out until Thanksgiving.
I created these in the old world techniques of spun cotton.
I love working in the medium. I takes a bit of time and can not be rushed. Though once finished they are whimsy and primitive touches.
They each are approximately the size of a golf ball. Each is about 4” Long with the stem for hanging.
They are similar in style, so I am not listing them individually.
There are three available for adoption.
Though only two pictured, one is waiting for his stem to be attached.
Each pumpkin has been spun on a cotton form that I created with the creases to give some demision to each pumpkin. Then spun with orange dyed cotton.
Hand-painted shading to each crease. Simply and sweet.
Their curling stems spun on wire. Then lightly grungy and the top turns into the hook for hanging.
Finished with a touch of brown mica around the stem, just because.
They can be a great additions to my spun cotton Jack's and my witch-cicles listed seperately.
A fun addition to your fall and Halloween trees.

OH BOY!
These were fun to create! In the “SPIRIT” of my OOAK Gooofy Jack's.
I created these boys in the old world techniques of spun cotton.

I love how these turned out!
I had a idea and I ran with it.
If you have been following me for awhile you know I am in love the old world art of spun cotton! it is a process.
It takes time and patience. Then lots of practice!
I have been learning and experimenting in the art for a few years now. I made many spun cotton icicles ornaments last winter. I played around with carrots as ornaments in the spring.
ANYWAY….
I had a thought, Halloween icicles… Then even better WITCH-CICLES!
Spun on a wire with a hook for hanging on your spooky tree.
Each one is uniquely different just like the real ones.
Painted black, grungy, because why not?
Finished with orange german glitter glass for the spooky fun look!
The icicles are hook to tip are approximatley 6”L give or take.
They come 5 to a set.

There is several steps to creating these wee boys!
Created from muslin. Fiber stuffed, painted, and sanded.
Each face is hand-stitched, then they get grungy and sanded.
Finished with a real dried pumpkin stem to set their personalities.
Depending on the Jack they have “teethie” grins, or maybe vintage shoe button eyes.
This BOO Jack -- Green
Vintage shoe button eyes, hand-stitched nose and mouth. Sweet teethie smile. It's all in the little details. Painted orange, grungy, and yes sanded. Simple hand-stitched smile.
He is grungy green and finished with a real dried pumpkin stem.

Many, many years ago, I created “misfit" Jack's. I decided to “revisit" them this year with a new twist.
I am offering two today, both listed seperately.
Each painted green, orange highlights added for a cool nights glow. Then grungy, sanded and all hand-stitched.
These are my large ones for the season.
Each is APPROXIMATELY 9 “ L, abut 4” Tall, with out their stems.
With Stems they are between 6 - 9” Tall depending on the stem.

Created from muslin, their shape is a big off beat. Just like their personality.
Large hand-stitched eyes to keep a watchful eye on everything. “teethie" grins of course. Old buttons for their eyes. Yes, finished with real dried pumpkin stems .
***Diamond jeweled eyes and great dried stem with dried vine. He really is a misfit.
They look great tucked on a shelf, in a bowl, they fit anywhere, they are “misfits" after all.. I love their “misfit” shape.

The fabric's I found on my trips to northern Minnesota are amazing! I went a bit crazy , I just couldn't choose.
I am sad the season will wrap up before I can put a few more to use!

Her outfit is simply spooky fun , I think. From her top with all the spiders, her hat also with spiders, just a different fabric. The tattered skirt with the burnout pattern. See all the pictures for close ups.

WELCOME TO MY SPUN COTTON OFFERINGS THAT ARE CURRENTLY FEATURED IN “A PRIMITIVE PLACE MAGAZINE” ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
This is for one of my 3 spun cotton Pumpkin Men I created exclusively for the feature.
They are each listed seperately.
I call this one Happy Top Pumpkin Man.
They are unqiuely my spin on the old world craft of Spun Cotton.
Each has been created from a wire armature. Wrapped in a cotton. I then added dyed orange warm and natural to create each of their outfits. Each has been lightly aged for a old worn look. Vintage reproduction cardstock images for their faces and personalilties. Black glitter glass for the hint of buttons on their coat. Jute string for a belt.
String has been added so they can hang on a fall tree. Or tuck in a fall display for the season.
Each is a OLM OOAK.
Each Pumpkin man is between 6 -7 “T and approximatley 3 “W.
Each of the three pumpin men are listed seperately.

WELCOME TO MY SPUN COTTON OFFERINGS THAT ARE CURRENTLY FEATURED IN “A PRIMITIVE PLACE MAGAZINE” ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
This is for one of my 3 spun cotton Pumpkin Men I created exclusively for the feature.
They are each listed seperately.
I call this one Happy Top Hat Pumpkin Man.
They are unqiuely my spin on the old world craft of Spun Cotton.
Each has been created from a wire armature. Wrapped in a cotton. I then added dyed orange warm and natural to create each of their outfits. Each has been lightly aged for a old worn look. Vintage reproduction cardstock images for their faces and personalilties. Black glitter glass for the hint of buttons on their coat. Jute string for a belt.
String has been added so they can hang on a fall tree. Or tuck in a fall display for the season.
Each is a OLM OOAK.
Each Pumpkin man is between 6 -7 “T and approximatley 3 “W.

Beulah is all dressed up for a evening on the town. I think she is a bit fancy.
She is a mixture of fiber-fill and raggs for her stuffing.
There is so much hand stitching on Beulah.
Her dress top is all civil war reproduction fabric.
Her skirt is a vintage doll skirt that has been grungy. I love the lace detail on it. Vintage button from my stash to complete her outfit. She is simply, fancy and sweet.
She is 19” long and about 6 “ wide.
Each of my dolls are a one of a kind and come signed, dated, and “OLM” stitched on the back of their head

From my personal collection, two antique stoneware ginger jars with scenic designs.
Chinese ginger jars are from the late 19th century and used for exporting spices like ginger, as well as oils and wine.
They are each approximately 3 to 4 “ wide and 3 to 4 “ tall, one has a lid and a small chip.

BELUAH THE WITCH.
She is a bit different offering for me. Beluah is created from a Cinnamon Creek Pattern. With my twist to her of course.
The fabric for her body and stocking wee feet were found on my trips to northern Minnesota.
I love her “wee” stocking feet to her long body. Isn't she a hoot?
Yes, she is fiber- fill and rag stuffed for a firm old feel.
Grungy of course then sanded for the olde worn look we all love.
Crazy wild flax for her hair.
Beluah is mysterious.
I add some string so she can hang from a peg rack. Or sit on a mantel?
She is LONG! From her black hat to her wee toes is is 23"L , 5 “ wide at her arms.
